Best of 2015

Spread the love:

Hello, hello!  We are back from a wonderful vacation to see family and friends back in Maryland and Virginia.  After some quality time with loved ones, I feel rejuvenated, happy and ready to continue my journey to health and weight loss in the new year.

I cannot believe 2015 is coming to a close, it seems like it just got started.  This year marks my first year of blogging and I can’t wait to see what 2016 brings.  I have big plans, including a new look, some great recipes, guest posts from other amazing bloggers and some really fun giveaways.

Before we move on to 2016, I wanted to take a look back at 2015 and what you enjoyed the most.  Here are the most popular blog posts, recipes and social media posts from this year.

Getting Our Paleo on at Costco

When we were given a membership to Costco as a gift from my parents, I decided to take my first trip there as a member and simply browse to get an idea of what we could find that would help support our grain-free, dairy-free lifestyle.  It was one of my very first blog posts and

I also wrote a follow-up to this post – What we Buy at Costco that lists the items we regularly buy at Costco and why we enjoy our membership there.

Most popular recipe

Chipotle Butternut Squash Soup at MadeItLoveItPaleo. This soup is sweet, spicy and delicious! Paleo, Grain-free, Dairy-free & Whole30.

My most popular recipe this year was for my Chipotle Butternut Squash Soup.  All of the butternut squash soup recipes I tried were a bit too sweet and I wanted to create something more savory.  I love making big batches of this soup and then freezing it in individual servings for later.  It pairs really well with steak, pulled pork or my favorite – bacon!

A few clicks short of 1st place was my recipe for Paleo Fried Chicken.  It’s crispy, crunchy and even Whole30 compliant!

As much as I talk about Magic Mushroom Powder from Nom Nom Paleo, it’s no surprise it was my most clicked link of the year.  Seriously, this stuff is amazing.  We put it on ALL. THE. THINGS.  If you haven’t tried this magical umami dust, you are missing out!

Right behind Magic Mushroom Powder was the link to PaleOMG’s Easy Breakfast Casserole.  This dish was one of the things that helped me survive my first Whole30 and continues to be one of our go-to breakfast favorites.
